Tips and Considerations for Using the Redwood Download Salaries Page in Oracle HCM
When working with the Redwood Download Salaries page in Oracle Cloud HCM, there are several important tips and technical considerations that ensure a smooth and accurate salary data management process:
- Extendable Business Rules: Oracle HCM allows the use of business rules to further extend the fields available in both the Inclusion Criteria and the Preview sections. This flexibility enables compensation teams to customize data views based on unique business needs.
- Large Data Handling: The Redwood interface supports a maximum of 20,000 salary records per file, making it ideal for enterprise-scale compensation planning and updates.
- Action and Reason Fields: These fields function as independent choice lists. This ensures more accurate categorization of compensation changes and helps maintain data consistency during the salary update process.
- Fixed Component Names in Incremental Mode: When using incremental salary components, the component name is system-defined and not editable. This is essential for maintaining standardization across bulk data uploads.
- Enforced Autocomplete Validations: If autocomplete validations are configured in your Oracle HCM environment, they are enforced automatically during the salary import process. This helps prevent incorrect or incomplete data from being uploaded.
- Salary Adjustment Rules: For user-determined salary basis types, you can either update the salary by entering a new salary amount or by specifying an adjustment percentage—but not both at the same time. This rule ensures clarity and prevents calculation conflicts during the upload.
By keeping these key considerations in mind, HR and compensation professionals can maximize the benefits of Oracle’s Redwood UI, reduce errors during salary data import, and streamline compensation management workflows.
Future Enhancements (Planned):
- Translated column headers
- Amounts displayed according to the salary basis decimal settings
- Export to Microsoft Excel
