In today’s world, Employees show a severe lack of interest in keeping their employee profile updated on their company portal or on any other corporate digital tool. More information about their skillsets, training, certifications, and interests can be found on LinkedIn rather than on the company portal.

Due to this phenomenon, HR & Managers find it difficult to identify successors for critical job roles in the event of sudden resignations or during the retirement of key profiles. This leads to a biased selection of candidates due to urgency in closing a position and leaves permanent gaps in the skills of the employees. There is no point in introducing another new tool or frequent surveys sent to the employees to capture their latest accomplishments. We need to find an innovative approach using AI & ML to identify the skills by closely following up on employees’ professional interactions inside the company and then finding the gaps in their skills by comparing them with specific job roles. Accurate identification will not only enable a healthy successor pipeline but can also pave way for the Learning & Development team to create personalized training content.
