A Step Deeper into the Notification Features | PeopleTools 8.59

The PeopleSoft Events and Notifications framework offers three configurable features designed to effectively monitor business processes and generate messages in the event of exceptional circumstances or errors within a PeopleSoft process or table. These messages can be intelligently directed to various users, whether they are within the PeopleSoft system or external to it, in order to promptly address and resolve the identified issues. Notably, convenient links are provided to guide users directly to the relevant pages for efficient correction or resolution. The three valuable features are,

  • Events
  • Notifications
  • Alerts

In this blog, we’ll take a closer look at the PeopleSoft Notification Framework, which is a tool that helps businesses communicate more effectively.

What is the difference between notification and push?

In a business context, the primary distinction between push notifications and regular notifications lies in their origin and purpose. Push notifications are generated externally by a server or backend system and sent to a user’s device to deliver timely updates, reminders, or news. On the other hand, regular notifications are internally generated by the application residing on the user’s device itself, intending to present information, reminders, or other relevant updates directly to the user.

The Bottom Line

Overall, PeopleTools 8.59 Notification Features provide a comprehensive and powerful solution for Peoplesoft users, significantly enhancing the email notification setup and the overall notification framework, ultimately leading to improved business processes, user engagement, and organizational efficiency.
