Absence Application Page | Hide or Show the Save & Close feature

In this Quick Read, we’ll delve into the practical aspects of managing the Save and Close feature within your Oracle HCM Cloud application. In this guide, we’ll explore the business applications of hiding or showing this essential feature, shedding light on its significance in the absence application page. Whether you’re seeking to streamline processes or enhance user experience, understanding how to manipulate this functionality is key, and we’ve got you covered. Let’s embark on this journey to harness the power of Oracle HCM Cloud.

When applying for an absence using Oracle Absence Management, employees are provided with the choice to save their entered details without finalizing the request. Likewise, managers, when inputting absence details for their team members, can also opt to save the information without making a final decision. This feature prevents the employees and managers from making finalized decisions during the application of absence.

In the 23B update, Oracle provides an option to hide the Save and Close option using the HCM Transaction Design Studio. When this option is hidden, employees and managers can only submit or cancel the absence transaction.

  • Error Prevention: This feature reduces the chances of accidental submissions or incomplete requests, improving data accuracy.
  • Workflow Efficiency: Managers can better manage team absence requests with the ability to save and revisit applications, enhancing workflow flexibility.
  • Saves Time: Cutting down on HR rework during absence validation results in a more streamlined and efficient HR workflow. It saves time and resources, ensuring HR can focus on more strategic tasks.
