In PeopleSoft, these Change Tracking Notifications can be configured through the Page and Field Configurator (PFC), which allows you to customize how fields and pages behave in the system. By utilizing these tools, administrators can set up notifications to alert users whenever there are changes to specific fields or pages in the application.
This capability can be crucial in a business environment where accountability, auditing, and real-time notifications are essential.

What Are Change Tracking Notifications?
Change Tracking Notifications are alerts that notify users when a change occurs in a field or page in PeopleSoft. These notifications can be configured to trigger for various types of changes, such as when data is added, updated, or deleted. This feature ensures that relevant parties (e.g., managers, administrators, or other stakeholders) are immediately informed when changes are made to important data.
For instance, if there is any change in the salary grade page, then those can be configured via Page and field configuration and the notification when these changes are affected in the system can be notified to the specific user based on the configuration set up done using page and field configuration.
How do Change Tracking Notifications Work?
Change Tracking notification is nothing but monitoring the changes related to the field or page.
There are two types of notifications they are:
- Field-Level Changes: Notifications are triggered whenever a specific field’s value is changed. For example, if an employee’s salary or job title is modified, a notification can be set up to inform HR of the change.
- Page-Level Changes: If an entire page containing multiple fields is updated, notifications can be sent to inform users of the page’s changes. This ensures that critical updates to complex records are properly communicated.
Using Page and Field Configurator (PFC) for Change Tracking Notifications
- Navigation for page and field configurator: Enterprise Components > Page and Field Configuration > Page and Field Configurator.

- Select the page for which you want to apply the changes. Enable the “Track changes” option for that page. This will ensure that any changes made to the page will trigger the notifications.
- You can customize the type of changes that will trigger the notifications based on your business requirements.
- You can specify the notifications to be sent to a specific user, group, or role depending on the type of changes. Once the configurations are set, we can have the notifications for the changes related to the field or the page.
- For Example, if we try modifying the maximum salary in the define salary grade page

Fig 2: Define Salary Grades page
- When we try to modify the maximum annual salary from 20051.16 to 25000.00 then a mail will be triggered to the respective user stating the changes.

- A notification will be sent to the respective defined user. The user can find the notification in the notification column as well.

- All the changes will be displayed in the change Tracking summary page with the previous value and new value. We can validate the changes and we can see who have made the changes as well.
