Introduction
To improve emergency contact records, three new fields have been added based on ideas from Ideas Lab. These fields allow more detailed information to be captured for an emergency contact.
The first field enables recording the contact’s email address, making communication easier. The second field is a Yes/No option to indicate whether the contact is a Missing Person Contact for the student. Lastly, a Comments field has been introduced, allowing students or administrators to add any additional details about the contact.
These enhancements help ensure that emergency contact information is more comprehensive and useful.
Enhancements to the Emergency Contact Information Page
The new fields are now available on the Emergency Contact Information page for administrators. The Email Address field has a check to make sure the email is in the correct format. The Missing Person Contact checkbox is not selected by default.
Administrators can choose to make these fields required or read-only. They can also change labels, hide fields, or mask information using the Page and Field Configurator.

New Field Configuration for Contact Pages
A new setup allows each field to be displayed on the Add Contact and Edit Contact fluid pages. In this example, all three fields are included. Like the admin page, the Missing Person Contact checkbox is not selected by default but can be enabled for one or more contacts. The Email Address field also has validation to ensure the email is in the correct format.

Emergency Contact Configuration Page
The Emergency Contacts Configuration page now includes options to control the display of new fields on the Add Contact and Edit Contact fluid pages.
New Yes/No options allow administrators to decide whether each of the three new fields should be displayed. By default, these options are not selected, meaning the fields will only appear if the configuration is updated.
Additional settings have been introduced to require at least one Emergency Contact and to ensure that at least one contact is marked as a Missing Person Contact.
- If Emergency Contact Required is selected and the student has only one emergency contact, the Delete option on the Edit Contact page will be hidden.
- When the Emergency Contact page is part of an activity guide, the Next button will only appear once at least one contact has been added.
- If Missing Person Required is selected and no contacts have been marked as a Missing Person Contact, the student will be prompted to select the checkbox when saving a contact.
