With every PeopleSoft HCM update, new features emerge that streamline processes and enhance user experience. In PeopleSoft HCM PUM Image 52, one standout enhancement is the introduction of Quick-Fill Configuration and Administrator Access in Time and Labor. This new capability empowers administrators to create and manage pre-filled time entry templates, ensuring faster, more accurate reporting while providing role-based access control. In this blog, we explore how to configure Quick-Fill entries and manage access settings to optimize your time reporting workflows.

What is Quick-Fill Configuration?
In this update, Oracle has delivered a new capability that allows administrators to control and manage Quick-Fill entries. This is particularly useful for organizations that want to provide customized Quick-Fill options based on roles, departments, or eligibility criteria.
This means we can now make sure only eligible reporters are able to see and use specific Quick-Fill entries, something that wasn’t as streamlined before.

Why Quick-Fill Matters
Remember how we used to chase people for timesheet errors? With Quick-Fill, administrators can now create pre-approved time blocks (Quick-Fills) tailored to specific teams or roles. The magic? Time reporters only see entries relevant to them – no more confusion with irrelevant options!
Navigating the Manage Quick-Fill Dashboard
You’ll find a new tile labeled Manage Quick-Fill on the homepage. Clicking this opens the dashboard where all current configurations are listed. From here, we can either add new Quick-Fills or delete existing ones.

This dashboard provides a centralized place to handle Quick-Fills without having to navigate multiple pages; it’s a great time saver.
Adding a New Quick-Fill
To start creating a new configuration, just hit the Add button. This takes you through a four-step wizard that uses the Manage Quick-Fills template.

Here, you can choose between time-related or task-related fields, depending on what your organization is tracking. This flexibility is ideal when different departments have different reporting needs.
User Access and Control
Another solid improvement is that administrators can now specify which users are allowed to create or use Quick-Fills. This level of control helps maintain data consistency and reduces misuse or over-customization by end-users.

If you’re concerned about end-users editing Quick-Fills on their own, the feature lets you limit their access or prevent any changes completely. You’ll find this setting on the Time and Labor Installation page.
Finalizing and Submitting for Approval
Once your Quick-Fill configuration is set up, there’s a review and submit step, where you can double-check everything before finalizing. Depending on your organization’s policies, this can then be routed for approval.

After submission, it becomes part of the organization’s managed Quick-Fill entries—available to users as per their access levels.
