Peoplesoft HCM enhances the life insurance and accidental death plans and benefits for dependents in HCM PUM 42. Oracle PeopleSoft has been doing continuous enhancements in delivered modules that helps customers stay current.

This feature will benefit administrators by giving them the flexibility to define relationships for dependent life coverage.

What is benefit Plan?

Benefit plans are the benefits that company wants to offer to their employees. Benefit plans can be broken down into categories. A -character alphanumeric numbering scheme is used to identify the different categories. Nine categories are already set up in the Manage Base Benefits business process.

In this blog we are going to see an enhancement to specify dependent relationship in Life and Accidental Death Category

Step –1: Navigation: Main Menu > Set Up HCM > Product Related > Base Benefits > Plan Attributes > Life and AD/D Plan Table

Step –2: The search page shows the plan type and Benefit Plan field. Use “Add a New Value” to add a new plan. To view an existing plan, enter relevant data and to find the available plan.

Step –3: After entering the plan type, against the “Insured person type” details, the Coverage Relationship data can be mentioned. Only dependants can be configured to the Dependents and Spouse Life plans based on the defined relationships.

Step –4: The relationship of the dependent for this plan can be entered. This dropdown gives the list of dependents that can be added.

Step –5: Now the updated information can be seen on the Benefit Enrolment Plan.

Benefits:

  1. Easy to track employee dependents relationship during the process of insurance.
  2. The feature is driven by Configuration and this involves no invasive coding.
