Oracle Fusion HCM continues to enhance employee self-service capabilities by integrating Artificial Intelligence into HR processes. One such innovation is the Person Legislative Information Assistant – AI Agent, which allows employees to update their marital status using natural language interactions.
Built on Oracle’s AI Agent framework and powered by advanced Large Language Models (LLMs), this assistant understands employee queries and provides accurate, role-based responses. Instead of navigating multiple pages or forms, employees can simply interact with the AI agent to view or update their marital status details.
The Person Legislative Information Assistant – AI Agent enables employees to interact with Oracle Fusion HCM conversationally to manage their marital status details.
With this AI agent, employees can:
The agent dynamically retrieves valid marital status values using the MAR_STATUS lookup from the Common Lookup configuration.
For example:
The AI agent ensures employees only see the values applicable to their legislation, preventing invalid updates.
If an employee has records across multiple legislations, the agent first prompts the user to select the country, then displays the valid marital status options accordingly.
Log in to Oracle Fusion HCM and navigate to AI Agent Studio. Search for the Person Legislative Information template under the HCM category. Once the template appears, click on Copy Template to create your own AI agent based on the preconfigured template.

After copying the Person Legislative Information template, the system opens the newly created agent in Draft mode. Review the agent configuration if required, then click Save and Close to save the changes.
Once the agent is saved, click Publish to activate the AI agent and make it available for use.

Once the agent is successfully published, navigate to Me > Quick Actions > AI Agent Studio. After opening AI Agent Studio, go to the Explore tab where all the published AI agents are displayed.
Locate and click on the Person Legislative Information agent from the list to proceed with updating the employee’s marital status.

After opening the Person Legislative Information agent, choose Update My Marital Status from the available options.
The AI agent will display fields such as Country, Marital Status, Start Date, and End Date. Enter the new Marital Status along with the Start Date, and the system will validate the details and automatically update the employee’s marital status.

The Person Legislative Information Assistant – AI Agent introduces a smarter and more intuitive way for employees to manage their personal information in Oracle Fusion HCM. By leveraging AI and natural language processing, employees can easily view and update their marital status while ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
This enhancement not only improves the employee experience but also reduces administrative effort for HR teams by enabling accurate self-service updates.
