Enhancing Employee Goal Assistant Using AI Agent in Performance Module
The Employee Goals Assistant in Oracle Applications is an AI-powered capability within Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM that helps employees and managers efficiently create, manage, and track performance and development goals. By leveraging Oracle’s AI Agent framework and large language models, the assistant enables users to interact through natural language, making goal management more intuitive and user-friendly.
It provides role-based, context-aware support for key activities such as viewing, creating, updating, and assigning goals. The assistant also ensures alignment with organisational objectives while respecting security roles and access permissions.
Additionally, the solution supports approval workflows where required, ensuring that any new or modified goals are reviewed and approved before being applied. This combination of AI-driven guidance, automation, and workflow control enhances accuracy, reduces manual effort, and improves the overall employee experience within Oracle HCM.

To enable the Employee Goals Assistant on the Employee Performance page, it must be integrated into a Guided Journey. The assistant can be tagged within the Performance page using an Oracle VBCS (Visual Builder Cloud Service) based page extension.
In VBCS, the Performance page is extended to include the AI Agent component, and the Employee Goals Assistant is linked to the guided journey step or section. This allows employees to access the assistant directly while working on their performance goals without navigating away from the page.
Once configured, the assistant becomes context-aware and appears within the Performance page flow, enabling actions like create, update, view, and assign goals in real time.
Benefits of Employee Goals Assistant:
- Easy Access: Employees can access the Employee Goals Assistant directly from the Performance page without navigating to other screens.
- Seamless Experience: Integration through Guided Journey and VBCS provides a smooth, in-page interaction within Oracle HCM.
- Faster Goal Management: Users can quickly create, update, view, and assign goals in real time while working on performance tasks.
- Context-Aware Assistance: The assistant understands the current page context and provides relevant goal-related suggestions and actions.
